Job summary

Heart of Florida Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver quality care within the scope of practice defined by the Center. The position supports physicians, nurses, and front-desk staff in a busy clinic setting, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate recordkeeping.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, current BLS certification, 1-2 years' experience in a medical office, and knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certificate with hands-on verification.
• 1-2 years experience as a medical assistant in a medical office, clinic, or hospital.
• State of Florida MA/CNA certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Pediatric background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Prepares examination and treatment room and instruments.
• Performs vital signs and basic in-office procedures.
• Maintains EMR documentation and vaccine, lab, and inventory logs.
• Assists providers during procedures and exams.
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and supports patient privacy/HIPAA.
