Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in clinical and administrative tasks. You will escort patients, obtain histories, record vitals, and document in the EHR while assisting with examinations and procedures.

The role requires CPR certification, 1–2 years of experience, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, managing medications and lab results, and educating patients on treatments.

Qualifications

• Certified/Licensed MA preferred; Associates degree or higher in healthcare preferred.
• One–Two years of experience in medical practice or clinical setting.
• CPR Certification.
• Computer skills including EMR and MS Office; EMR knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination room to maintain patient flow.
• Interviews patients to obtain medical information and records history.
• Obtain and record vital signs in the EHR; notify providers of concerns.
• Record medications and lab results in the EHR.
• Educate patients on procedures, medications, and instructions.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain sterile fields.
• Perform minor procedures: injections, dressings, phlebotomy.
• Process prescription refills and manage eRx in the EHR.
• Direct calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries per policy.
