Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting. The role requires CMA/RMA certification and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

You will work under supervising providers and maintain EMR documentation, patient safety, and efficient clinic flow. Responsibilities include rooming, vitals,EKGs, wound care, phlebotomy, and coordinating lab and referral needs while ensuring high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Certified by one of the governing associations: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information including reason for visit, vitals, and medication review using the EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination and treatment rooms between cases.
• Assist patients to prepare for visits and ensure safety and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care such as EKGs, wound care, and minor procedures as directed.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform phlebotomy as trained.
• Support receptionist and clerical duties including filing reports and handling referrals.
