Job summary

Parkland Health at Vickery Health Center in Dallas is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join the medical home team. You will support physicians and nurses, perform administrative and clinical duties, obtain vital signs, and ensure patient flow and safety in a fast-paced clinic.

Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold a current BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Occasional travel to other Parkland locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed training through an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 90 days of hire or placement.

Responsibilities

• Administrative responsibilities: review daily schedule, process referrals, obtain records, and ensure forms are stocked.
• Clinical responsibilities: prepare patients, assist with procedures, maintain infection control, and monitor safety policies.
• Professional development: participate in training and improvement activities.
• May administer unit dose medications under physician delegation after competencies are completed.
