Job summary

Requirements include High School diploma, CMA or RMA certification, Medication Aide certification if applicable, BLS, and 2 years MA experience. Training in abuse reporting is also required within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA or RMA certification required where applicable.
• Medication Aide 40-hour course or state certification required where applicable.
• May require specialized training such as NCT.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height/weight, allergies, and medications.
• Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis when needed.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered by the provider.
• May perform routine tests including EKGs.
• Schedule patients for testing and ensure completion.
• Communicate test results and care plans to patients as directed.
