Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and completes clinical and non-clinical duties in the back office.
• Maintains accurate medical records in collaboration with front office for revenue cycle activities.
• Follows immunization and medication administration procedures, including labeling, storage, and utilization.
• Collects specimens, processes and documents results in the EHR per CLIA testing instructions.
• Fulfills provider orders within scope of practice and provides discharge instructions.
• Coordinates continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
• Maintains exam room readiness and supplies, and prepares rooms for procedures.
• Reports safety hazards to supervisory staff immediately.
• Interview patients to obtain visit reason, history and chief complaints; records vital signs and intake data.
• Documents all patient-related services and interactions in charting procedures.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
