Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support healthcare teams with clinical and non-clinical patient services under provider direction.

You will take vital signs, document information, schedule appointments, and help manage patient flow in a busy onsite setting. Qualifications include strong communication, EHR proficiency, attention to detail, and a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• EMT-B Massachusetts certification preferred.
• 0-1 year direct MA or medical field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment for providers.
• Record patients' medical history, vitals, or test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties and liaise with departments to advocate for patients.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms, keep them clean, and stock supplies.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned and comply with policies.
