Job summary

Talentify in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in hematology and oncology clinics. Under supervision, you will prepare patients, perform vital signs, collect specimens, and document results in the medical record.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, maintaining exam rooms, coordinating tests, and ensuring infection control and patient safety. A Medical Assistant certificate or 1-3 years of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training program or 1-3 years of MA/EMT/CNA experience (with certificate).
• Completion of Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate patient care and document information.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight and screening procedures and records findings.
• Collects specimens and assists with preparation and routing of requisitions.
• Performs and documents daily controls of laboratory equipment and reports inaccuracies.
• Performs ECG and phlebotomy per provider orders with infection control adherence.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures and exams following protocols.
• Maintains exam rooms, stocks supplies, and completes required logs.
• Pre-visit chart preparation and efficient flow of patients through the suite.
• Performs related clerical duties to ensure smooth operations.
