Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams and treatments.
• Interview patients to obtain medical history and vital signs.
• Prepare exam, procedure, and operative rooms for physicians.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Obtain proper consent forms and dispense medications per protocol.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain procedures, medications, and wound care to patients.
• Assist physicians, hand instruments, and perform injections or sutures.
• Authorize refills under provider direction and communicate with pharmacies.
• Maintain sterile field and clean rooms between patients.
• Dispose of waste properly and keep equipment in working order.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate tests/admissions.
• Inventory supplies and ensure rooms are stocked.
