Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant Associate to provide direct patient care, support clinical workflows, and assist with routine lab tasks. The role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, recording histories, and preparing medications under standing orders and Ambulatory Care policies.

You will work within a hybrid-enabled ambulatory setting, supporting physicians and nurses, and contributing to efficient patient flow while adhering to safety guidelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR enrollment/completion of healthcare-related coursework OR equivalent education/experience (1-3 years).
• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Respond to general patient inquiries about clinic operations.
• Rooms patients and performs intake including vitals and histories.
• Obtain medical records and prepare information for appointments.
• Perform injections, immunizations, and basic POC testing as trained.
• Enter orders and manage medication renewals per policy.
• Maintain clinic spaces, inventory, and equipment.
