Job summary

Connecticut Orthopaedics in Hamden, CT is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical teams in our busy practice. Responsibilities include casting, dressing changes, rooming patients, taking intake, and assisting with injections and ultrasound per provider protocol.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Medical Assistant with a High School diploma and 3–5 years of MA experience, preferably in orthopaedics.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years MA experience preferred.
• Experience in orthopaedic practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cast application and removal.
• Apply and remove wound dressings as directed.
• Assist with staple and suture removal.
• Fit patients for DME and complete billing paperwork.
• Room patients and manage intake documentation.
• Assist with injections and ultrasound per protocol.
• Maintain a clean, stocked exam room.
• Enter orders for x-ray and assist with scheduling.
• Support clinical workflow across clinics.

CT Orthopaedics is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant. This positionprovides direct support to the physician and clinical teams in a given location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to casting, dressing application and removal, DME, rooming patients, patient intake, exam room stocking and cleaning and scheduling.

Essential Responsibilities

• Cast application and removal.
• Applying and removing wound dressings based on provider preferences.
• Participating in staple and suture removal
• Fitting patients with durable medical equipment and braces appropriately and completing billing paperwork accurately
• Rooming patients and completing appropriate intake documentation
• Drawing up and setting up injections/ultrasound per provider's protocol
• Maintaining a clean and stocked exam room.
• Entering orders for x-ray
• Assisting with appointment scheduling for follow up appointments.
• Assisting with clinical workflow throughout the clinics

Education & Experience Requirements

• Certified as a Medical Assistant
• High school Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Experience in an Orthopaedic practice preferred

Location & Schedule

• Hamden, CT
• Monday – Friday varies 7:00am-5:00pm

Salary

• Starting hourly rate rage: $23-$28, based on experience

The posted pay range and actual compensation offered are based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, market data, internal equity, and organizational needs.
