Job summary

Better Morning, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Manager to oversee the clinical aspects of the MHRS program, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality care. The role includes direct clinical service, supervision, and administrative tasks in a DC-based setting.

Requirements include an Independent DC license, LPC or LICSW, and 2–3 years of clinical experience with supervisory responsibilities. In-person work at the DC office with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health field.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in DC.
• 2–3 years of field experience and 1–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Salary negotiable for applicants with DBH experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to achieve productive teams and high quality care.
• Coordinate service coverage, supervision, and crisis support across teams.
• Attend meetings and facilitate family team meetings as needed.
• Train staff and supervise operations within clinical staff and treatment services.
• Provide direct services including comprehensive intake assessments (≥6 per week).
• Approve session notes and manage personnel actions with HR.
• Offer individual and group supervision to improve staff skills.
• Ensure clinical documentation meets compliance standards.
• Collaborate with other providers for referrals and relationships.

Better Morning emerged as an outpatient behavioral health practice in Ashburn, VA in the year of 2014.

In addition to providing counseling from the Ashburn office, Better Morning started off as a certified provider for intensive in home and community-based services (IHCBS), for at risk youth in District of Columbia.

In August of 2017, Better Morning was certified as a Core service agency (CSA) by DC Department of Behavioral Health. Better morning founder’s passion for at risk youth and their family were the motivation to keep expanding the evidenced based programs to meet the need of the underserved population.

The compensation will vary based on experience with DBH Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS)

Position Summary

The Clinical Manager for the mental health rehabilitation program will oversee all clinical aspects of services for an assigned team(s). Manages, directs, and leads the treatment services provided, provides administrative and clinical supervision, and provides direct clinical services based on client and agency need.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership and supervision skills that lead to acceptable/expected levels of productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of team members in expecting and providing excellent care to clients.
• Works in coordination with Clinical Director and staff to ensure coverage of services, supervision, and crisis support across teams and programs.
• Attends DBH meetings; stakeholder meetings; facilitate family team meetings as needed
• Trains staff and manages, coordinates, evaluates and supervises all operations within assigned clinical staff and treatment services.
• Provides direct services such as complete comprehensive assessment for new intakes at least 6 per week
• Approves session notes
• Provides personnel management functions for all assigned staff including supervision, annual evaluations, involvement in hiring, disciplinary actions, etc. in consultation with Human Resources.
• Provides individual and group supervision to improve the skills and productivity of staff.
• Ensures clinical documentation meets compliance standards/guidelines and approve the notes.
• Works with other providers for referrals and relationship for agency as needed

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health field.
• Must be Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)in District of Columbia.
• Two-three years of experience in the field and one – three years of supervisory experience
• For applicants that have experience working with DBH salary can be negotiable
