Clinical Leader Practices - Outpatient Oncology

Join to apply for the Clinical Leader Practices - Outpatient Oncology role at Rochester Regional Health.

This position is based at Lipson Cancer Institute - RGH and Linden Oaks Locations, with a schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30-5pm, 4x9s, including on-call every 12th Saturday.

Department: Hematology/Medical Oncology Unit/Infusion Center, providing comprehensive cancer and blood disorder care including chemotherapeutics, labs, biopsies, infusion, transfusions, and consultations. The department also oversees medical direction of the Cancer Center and offers ancillary services like navigation, social work, spiritual care, and home care.

Summary: As a Clinical Leader, you will lead and guide staff, facilitate patient care, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Practice Triad leadership to manage daily practice functions.
  • Communicate openly, embodying STAR behaviors and organizational mission/vision.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff including LPNs, MOAs, and clerical staff.
  • Engage in purposeful rounding with staff, patients, and physicians, using AIDET to enhance patient experience.
  • Address issues identified during rounding and follow up appropriately.
  • Identify high-risk patients and ensure current care plans.
  • Acknowledge staff achievements and role modeling.
  • Coach staff privately, initiate counseling or disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Maintain professional resolution of practice issues, enforce HR policies, and hold staff accountable.
  • Participate in hiring processes, ensuring peer interview procedures are followed.
  • Manage practice budget collaboratively with leadership.
  • Achieve practice pillar goals related to patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, financial performance, growth, and quality.
  • Ensure staff training and competency, especially when implementing practice changes.
  • Mentor new and existing clinical staff.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals using comprehensive feedback.
  • Assign tasks based on patient needs and staff competencies.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, monitor breaks/lunches, and communicate staffing needs.
  • Evaluate daily staffing needs and make staffing decisions fairly.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulations and prepare staff for ongoing readiness.
  • Promote understanding and adherence to patient safety goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • At least 2 years of RN experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in oncology is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:

Valid nursing license required.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, with frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

Compensation:

Pay range from $70,000 to $89,045 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
