Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a seasoned Social Worker V to serve as clinical lead for B-HEARD areas. You will provide supervision, real-time guidance, and crisis disposition planning across field, clinical, and community settings.

The role requires an LCSW license in NY, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and strong communication. Expect collaboration with EMS, first responders, and cross-agency teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid license as an LCSW issued by the NYSED and two years supervisory experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience using casework, group work or community organizations.
• Experience in acute/field-based behavioral health care settings (CPEP, mobile crisis teams) required
• Proficiency in crisis evaluation, intervention and disposition planning
• Knowledge of behavioral health disorders, systems of care, and social determinants of health
• Ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-stress situations
• English proficiency required; bilingual/multilingual preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC, PSYCKES, MS Office and EMS equipment/communication
• Individual or familial lived experience in behavioral health is highly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• EMS Radio and H+H issued devices for communication
• Laptop and smartphone, EPIC/electronic medical record, PSYCKES, WebEx experience

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group clinical supervision for Social Workers and perform all related tasks
• Provide real-time consultation and guidance on complex cases to mental health clinicians in the field; face-to-face and via telephone
• Conduct brief crisis evaluations, including risk and safety assessments, and develop rapid, patient-centered disposition plans
• Leverage real-time health information and collaborate with existing supports
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision, training and case consultation to Social Work staff
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy and quality assurance
• Manage performance evaluations, training and professional development
• Complete all assigned performance management processes, including scheduling evaluations, tracking due dates, and maintaining performance review documentation
• Oversee and maintain employee time and attendance records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program and HR policies
• Build collaborative relationships with EMS and other first responder partners, and community agency partners
• Uphold trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, culturally responsive practice in both care delivery and supervision
• Participate actively as part of the B-HEARD Clinical Leadership Team
• Adapt to programmatic changes and ensure compliance with H+H, city, state and federal standards and regulations
• Participate and/or lead program, borough, and departmental meetings as required
