Job summary

US Foot and Ankle Specialists is seeking an experienced Lead Medical Assistant to guide our clinical team in a fast-paced podiatry practice. This role mentors staff, supports physicians, and leads office operations while delivering exceptional patient care.

The Lead MA serves as the primary clinical resource, supports training and development, and helps maintain efficient workflows across multiple office locations.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant program completion or 3+ years clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• 2 years leadership experience preferred.
• 3 years healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of health insurance processes, CPT/ICD coding, and pre-authorizations preferred.
• Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource and point of contact for Medical Assistant staff.
• Lead by example with professionalism and teamwork to provide patient care.
• Plan for physician and clinic needs to ensure efficient operations.
• Train and onboard new Medical Assistants and educate on procedures.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring Medical Assistant candidates.
• Support staff scheduling and clinic coverage.
• Oversee medical supply inventory and ordering.
• Assist with annual MA evaluations and performance reviews.
• Monitor equipment cleanliness and functionality.
• Perform MA clinical duties, assisting physicians with patient care.
• Communicate staff concerns and operational issues to management.
