Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine in New York seeks a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician to contribute to core laboratory services, maintaining safe lab practices per NYSDOH/OSHA standards and delivering high-quality patient care with excellent communication.

The role covers routine clinical analyses, instrument maintenance, quality control, and collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, and hospital colleagues, with occasional weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or eligibility.
• ASCP certification and relevant experience are preferred.
• Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or biological sciences is required; a master’s degree is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Line responsibility for the performance of clinical analysis in the Department of Laboratories.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting per established protocols.
• Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
• Proficient in computer protocols as assigned.
• Interact professionally with nursing staff, physicians, support staff and hospital community.
• Work every other weekend; pass days and holidays as assigned.

BS in Medical Technology/Biological or Life Sciences

ASCP Certification

MS degree (preferred)
