Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join the team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. The shift is 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 4x10-hour evenings, with every third weekend and rotating holidays, plus shift differentials.

You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex testing per SOPs, monitor equipment, and ensure accurate, timely results to support quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Work Schedule: 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 4x10-hour evening shifts per week, with every third weekend and rotating holiday coverage. Eligible for 10% shift differential on second shift or 25% shift differential on weekend second shift.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred Qualifications 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range

$31.00 - $44.76 per hour + Shift Differential All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
