Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology

Join us to apply for the Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology role at Labcorp.

We are seeking experienced Clinical Lab Professionals interested in a new challenge or starting their career in Clinical Lab Science. Labcorp offers exciting opportunities to join our team as a Technologist at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.

This position involves working in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, aligned with Labcorp's mission: “Improving Health, Improving Lives”.

Work Schedule

1st shift, Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm, rotating every 3rd weekend.

Job Responsibilities
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Replenish testing supplies as needed.
  • Assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State).
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or a MLS degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must pass a standardized color vision test.
  • Flexibility for overtime or shift changes based on business needs.
