Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Direct Tests

Position Overview

Labcorp is seeking an experienced Clinical Lab Professional to join our Direct Tests team as a Technologist in Burlington, NC. This role involves working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, contributing to our mission: “Improving Health, Improving Lives”.

Work Schedule & Benefits

Schedule: 3rd shift, Thursday-Sunday, 10:00pm-8:30am, with a 15% shift differential. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan, applicable based on hours worked.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess specimen acceptability based on established criteria.
2. Perform routine and complex testing procedures as per SOPs.
3. Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
4. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
5. Prepare and evaluate reagents and controls.
6. Report accurate and timely test results.
7. Perform preventative maintenance and quality control.
8. Manage testing supplies.
9. Assist with specimen processing as needed.
10. Maintain a safe work environment with appropriate PPE.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with computers; familiarity with LIS is a plus.
• Attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a color vision test.
• Flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
