Position Summary:
The Michigan State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technologist in the Clinical Pathology Laboratory section. The role involves performing and evaluating complex chemical and microscopic tests to provide timely, accurate diagnostic data for veterinarians. Responsibilities include clinical chemistry, immunohematology, hematology, coagulation, immunology, and urinalysis. Work hours vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires exposure to veterinary biological specimens, working with hazardous waste, regulated chemicals, biological materials, and extensive use of video display terminals.

Minimum Requirements: A four-year degree in Medical Technology or related science, with 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications: Board certification as MT or CLS (ASCP or BOR) or eligibility within six months; VTS credentialing in veterinary clinical pathology within four years; experience with specific laboratory analyzers and techniques; excellent communication and teamwork skills; safety and quality assurance experience.
