Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in medical technology or biological sciences required.
• LSBME license required.
• Experience in hospital laboratory settings preferred.
• Ability to perform high-complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization in the lab setting.
• Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids to determine normal and abnormal components.
• Analyzes lab findings to verify accuracy of results and communicates with physicians as needed.
• Enters analysis data into computer systems for storage and record-keeping.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains laboratory analyzers and related equipment.
• Establishes quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy of results.
• Collects and analyzes blood samples for cell morphology, blood type, and compatibility testing.
• Performs high-complexity testing and responds to results with STAT/NOW/timed designations.
