Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a wide range of clinical lab tests and procedures. You will work independently, adhere to regulatory requirements, and support patient care through accurate testing and results.

Responsibilities include quality control, instrument maintenance, specimen processing, and staff training in a busy laboratory setting. A strong emphasis on patient safety and process improvement is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required.
• Certification within 12 months of hire: ASCP, CLS, MLT or equivalent.
• Experience in clinical laboratory settings desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing according to established procedures.
• Maintains accurate documentation and reviews results per regulatory guidelines.
• Ensures patient safety and adheres to Kaiser Permanente quality and safety policies.
• Conducts quality control and quality assurance activities and participates in process improvements.
• Performs instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration as required.
• Collects specimens and processes them for transport.
• Trains and orients new staff and participates in hiring processes as needed.
• Manages supplies to support cost-effective laboratory operations.
• Implements new methods and instrument startups and validations.
