Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of current experience in a clinical laboratory or related field.
• KP Coalition employees may have this requirement waived per the National Agreement.
• Associate degree or military training as described is required; degree major must be stated on the document.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and calibrates test instruments and equipment to assure accuracy of tests.
• Prepares and collects specimens and performs laboratory tests of moderate and high complexity as defined in procedures.
• Discusses unexpected or unreasonable test results with supervisor.
• Reports test results and related data by entering information in database.
• Prepares, distributes, and files forms and reports.
• Cleans instruments and equipment after each test.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs on instruments and equipment.
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Assists newly assigned staff to learn laboratory procedures.
• Performs other related duties as directed.
