Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required.
• Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (California) required.
• Additional requirements: CLS knowledge of laboratory principles, procedures and safety.
• Regional Reference Labs requirements including high-volume work, automation, QC and molecular testing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente Policies and Procedures and applicable laws.
• Provides high level patient care and maintains confidentiality of test results.
• Performs and reports test results for all clinical laboratory procedures.
• Monitors quality control, QA, preventive maintenance and proficiency testing.
• Troubleshoots equipment and test methods; notifies supervisory of irregularities.
• Instructs and mentors CLS students and staff; communicates with physicians and nurses on methods and interpretation of results.
