Job summary

Great Plains Tribal Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform hematology, chemistry, serology, urinalysis, and microbiology tests for Oyate Health Center patients. Rotating shifts with some weekends/holidays apply. The role includes phlebotomy, sample processing, report generation, and instrument QC.

Requirements include an associate degree in MLT, ASCP or AMT certification within six months, and BLS. Background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

Associate degree from a Medical Laboratory Technician program.
Valid certification by ASCP or AMT within six months of hire.
BLS certification required or to be obtained within 90 days of employment.
Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

Perform hematology, chemistry, serology, urinalysis, and microbiology tests.
Prepare reagents and reference materials; analyze body fluids/tissues.
Operate and maintain lab instruments; document calibrations and maintenance.
Enter test results; generate patient lab reports for providers.
Perform quality control procedures and monitor reagent and instrument performance.
Conduct phlebotomy to obtain blood samples.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate recordkeeping.
