Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center’s Division of Clinical Pathology is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to perform tests on blood, urine and body fluids, under supervision. The role requires licensure, an associate degree, and at least 1 year of laboratory experience.

You will operate automated instruments, perform QC, and ensure accurate results while following strict infection control procedures in a multi-site laboratory network.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician license required.
• 1 year of work experience in a clinical lab preferred.
• Knowledge of QA/QC concepts and lab practices.

Responsibilities

Utilizing the latest advances in computer technology, the Division maintains millions of dollars of state-of-the-art automated equipment at its laboratory sites and services hospitals, nursing homes, the Montefiore Medical Group, faculty practices, and voluntary physicians' offices at more than 40 sites.Under supervision of a supervisor or Senior Technologist performs all tests within the scope and responsibility of the Chemistry Laboratory according to the laboratory policy and procedure manual.
