Job summary

Family Care Network Laboratory Services in Bellingham, WA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor / Technical Quality Specialist to support laboratory operations, quality control, staff development, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Must obtain certification within 6 months if not currently certified.
  • 4–6 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laboratory regulations.
  • Implement new laboratory processes, instruments, and procedures.
  • Develop and update laboratory policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory.
  • Support the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and EMR processes.
  • Participate in regulatory survey readiness activities.

  • Assist with recruitment, orientation, performance evaluations, and staff development.
  • Coordinate laboratory scheduling and on-call operations.

About the Opportunity

Family Care Network (FCN) Laboratory Services is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor / Technical Quality Specialist to support laboratory operations, technical quality, staff development, and regulatory compliance in Bellingham, Washington.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for day-to-day laboratory activities while also performing general medical technologist duties. The position involves oversight of quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), staff training, competency assessment, laboratory processes, instrumentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • ASCP certification or equivalent as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates who are not currently certified must obtain certification within 6 months of starting the role.
  • At least 4–6 years of clinical laboratory experience with demonstrated technical expertise.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

Candidates should also demonstrate strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality systems, instrumentation, troubleshooting, computer systems, communication, problem-solving, and laboratory operations.

Salary & Benefits

The position offers a wage range of $33.20–$49.08 per hour, with placement based on relevant experience. Eligible evening and weekend hours receive an additional $3.00 per hour.
