NeoGenomics is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor for our FISH department in Aliso Viejo, CA, who is eager to learn and contribute to our company's growth.

This position will work Tuesday through Saturday.

Position Summary:

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all laboratory services in their department. They oversee daily operations, personnel, and monitor processes to maintain high performance standards. They also assist in implementing procedures and ensuring compliance with quality, production, and efficiency metrics.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring all laboratory procedures are performed adequately in the absence of the Laboratory Manager or Medical Laboratory Director.
  2. Performing high complexity clinical tests as per department procedures.
  3. Communicating data and information effectively across all levels and responding to inquiries from staff, managers, and clients.
  4. Maintaining detailed SOPs to meet accreditation and licensing standards, updating them as needed.
  5. Supervising laboratory operations and personnel performing high complexity testing.
  6. Monitoring QC programs, ensuring compliance, and documenting corrective actions.
  7. Managing personnel hiring, training, and compliance with SOPs and skills checklists.
  8. Handling administrative duties such as employee reviews, attendance, and training records.
  9. Assisting in budget management and preparing departmental reports as needed.
  10. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science with at least four years of pertinent laboratory experience, including two years in a clinical laboratory with a doctoral-level director.
  • OR Bachelor's degree with at least six years of relevant clinical laboratory experience, including two in a clinical setting with a doctoral-level director.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Six or more years in high complexity testing within the specialty.
  • At least three years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Certification and licensing requirements:

  • ASCP certification for the specialty, if available.
  • Current state supervisor license in FL, CA, or TN.
