Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC Arcadia Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform high complexity testing under supervision, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of results.

The role requires a California CLS license, a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field, and preferred microbiology experience. The incumbent will maintain quality control, calibrations, documentation and staff training as part of a hospital laboratory team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field is required.
• Microbiology experience is preferred.
• Valid State of California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prioritize work duties.
• Identify and solve technical problems during routine testing.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document QC activities and calibrations.
• Assist in recording and documenting controls in work steps.
• Develop and install quality control standards to assure accuracy of test results.
• Assist in training new employees and students.
• Review and solve quality control problems with the section supervisor.
• Perform high complexity testing as authorized in the lab.
• Maintain competency, licensure and credentialing files.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and records.
