Rumford Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a per diem Medical Laboratory Technician to perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests per CLIA guidelines. Responsibilities include adherence to testing procedures, quality control, problem identification, and reporting with a focus on accuracy and safety.

The role requires ASCP certification or equivalent, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and state licensure if required, with potential lead duties on shift and variability in scheduling.

Formación

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsabilidades

• Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or Medical Director.
• Perform manual and automated lab procedures across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology and related disciplines.
• Maintain instruments and equipment per schedule (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to reporting.
• May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture as needed from newborns to geriatrics.
• Assist in development/maintenance of lab policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, HR policies; may serve as Lead Tech during shift.
