Responsibilities:

• Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate and high complexity testing. Analyze test results and ensure accuracy.
• Evaluate and recommend new methods, instrumentation, and technology based on customer needs, cost-benefit analysis, and revenue potential; inform management of findings.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies and serve as a resource to internal and external customers.
• Manage assigned projects by developing plans, coordinating resources, setting timelines, and updating management on progress to ensure completion within deadlines.
• Practice quality control management, including running controls, evaluating data, documenting results, and taking corrective actions as needed. Communicate QC information to supervisors or managers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions. Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills and seek guidance when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Licenses and Certifications:

• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), MLT(ASCP), MLT(HEW). Certification is waived for those with over 10 years of laboratory experience.

Methodist ER Boerne, opened in 2008, is the first 24/7 freestanding emergency center in South and Central Texas. It features 15 private treatment rooms and provides high-level emergency care, including radiology, a full-service laboratory, and telemetry services. The center exceeds national standards for rapid evaluation and treatment, especially in emergency cardiac cases.
