Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) at the III level for an evening shift (3pm–11:30pm). The role reports to the Lab Manager/Lead and involves performing a variety of routine and complex tests, training staff, and supporting QA and new testing programs.

Requires MT/MLS certification and 2 years of clinical lab experience. Candidates must have a BS in Medical Lab Sciences or closely related field and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Medical Lab Sciences, Medical Technology, or Clinical Lab Science related field, required.
• Minimum 2 years of direct clinical laboratory experience is required.
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) by ASCP or equivalent required and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory tests and report results per SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Support pre-analytical and analytical lab areas as needed.
• Provide training to new hires, students, residents and others in the lab.
• Assist in bringing online new testing programs, validation, QA, and research support.
• Resolve problems, provide expertise on equipment and testing protocols, and manage specimen workflow.
