Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II for Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS. This per diem role requires strong lab skills and teamwork to support patient care.

Responsibilities include performing tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology and more, ensuring quality control and accurate records in the LIS. ASCP certification and hospital lab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical.
• Current and valid State License if required.

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in diagnosis.
• Interpret lab test results and identify abnormalities for clinician decisions.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures and calibrate equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and input data into the laboratory information system.
• Ensure operations comply with policies and regulations.
• Perform procedures across multiple disciplines as introduced into the laboratory.

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, also referred to as a Medical Technologist (Med Tech). The Clinical Lab Scientist II (CLS II) requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They play an important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests
• Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
• Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
• Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory

Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent preferred
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical
• Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423)
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
