Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I for full-time evenings. The role requires ASCP certification (or equivalent) and a relevant bachelor’s degree. State licensure may be required where applicable.

You will perform routine and specialized tests, interpret results, and ensure quality control within a collaborative healthcare team. Experience is preferred but not required; certification within 90 days is acceptable.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests.
• Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
• Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements

Education
