Job summary

The role includes performing qualitative and quantitative analyses, operating complex biomedical instrumentation, and ensuring quality control across the laboratory.

The incumbent will review results, maintain supplies, stay current with new methodologies, and may assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Department Head.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science.
• ASCP or NCA certification required.
• Minimum 6 months of related laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient specimens.
• Perform specimen collection and handling as needed.
• Operate biomedical electronic instrumentation including calibration, maintenance, QA and troubleshooting.
• Perform and analyze quality control procedures and report results.
• Review and verify the accuracy of test results before entry into the information system.
• Maintain inventory of supplies to ensure continuous service.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy and clinical significance.
• Attend seminars and read journals to maintain knowledge in the specialty.
• Assist with supervision in absence of the Department Head and orient/train new staff.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
