Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science.
• Minimum six months of related experience or equivalent.
• ASCP or NCA certification required.
• Ability to follow established procedures and QA protocols.

Responsibilities

• Analyze qualitative and quantitative patient specimens per procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and handling as needed.
• Operate and calibrate biomedical instrumentation; ensure QA and troubleshoot.
• Conduct daily quality control tests and document results.
• Verify accuracy of test results before entry into the system.
• Maintain inventory to ensure continuous service and minimize downtime.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy and clinical significance.
• Keep current knowledge by attending seminars and reading journals.
• Evaluate new methodologies and instrumentation with guidance from supervisor.
• Assist in training new staff and supervising in absence of Dept Head.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
