Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests in CLIA scope and follow established procedures.
• Adhere to the laboratory's procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions when tests deviate from performance specs.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and communicate with supervisor or Medical Director as needed.
• Maintain and document instrument maintenance daily, weekly, or monthly; review accuracy of results before release.
