Job summary

Providence Centralia Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform bench duties across Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular, and more. You will plan, perform, and evaluate testing and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure accurate results.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in MLS or equivalent with clinical rotations and eligibility for national certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation or
• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or
• Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas
• Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology or
• Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists or
• Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology or
• Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologist
• 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform and evaluate laboratory testing analysis
• Establish and maintain communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel and professional associations
• Work across sections such as Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, and more
