Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• MT/MLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests per established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports/test result notifications.
• Performs calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment.
• Performs quality control and QA activities and corrective actions.
• Ensures proper labeling and handling of specimens across age groups.
• Provides training and technical assistance to staff, students and residents.
• Supports accreditation standards and CAP regulatory requirements.
• Performs proficiency testing for patient samples (internal and external).
• Performs specialized testing across transfusion, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation and flow cytometry.
• Provides rapid, accurate lab results for critical care departments (ED, ICU, OR) during high-acuity events.
• Must demonstrate care appropriate to age of patients served.
