Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems, and to perform and interpret laboratory tests for diverse patient populations. This role follows a 4-10 schedule, Wednesday through Saturday, and requires color-acuity screening.

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or medical technology and be eligible for certification, with ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS (HEW) credentials commonly accepted. Atlanta area employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with current certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Work Schedule: 4-10, working Wednesday-Saturday
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test
