Job summary

Northside Hospital in the Atlanta area is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems and perform and interpret laboratory tests for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or Associate degree with MT/MLS/CLS certification) and be eligible for certification exams (ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS). A minimum of one year in a clinical lab is required; color-acuity screening is also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology and eligible for certification.
• Certifications accepted: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW).
• Associates Degree with MT/MLS/CLS certification accepted; certification agencies listed.
• Military program graduate with MT/MLS/CLS certification accepted; agencies listed.
• Grandfathered MT with current MT/MLS/CLS certification; agencies listed.
• One year of clinical laboratory experience.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures per standards.
• Color-Acuity screening test required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor test systems and perform and interpret laboratory tests.
• Provide accurate results across neonate to geriatric patient populations.
• Ensure compliance with proper standards and regulations in the lab.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology

Associates Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

Graduate of a Military Program in Science

Grandfathered Medical Technologist certification
