Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Medical Technologist) in New York. The role involves performing clinical laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate test results, and supporting transfusion-related testing with adherence to NYSDOH regulations.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, NYSED licensure or eligibility with a limited permit, and at least 1 year of laboratory experience. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Licensure by NYSED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, or licensure-eligible with limited permit/full license before expiration of permit.
• Minimum 1 year experience in standard laboratory methodologies.
• ASCP or other national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and verifies laboratory tests and/or prepares products for transfusion on specimens to obtain accurate data.
• Performs quality control (QC) processes and proficiency testing as assigned.
• Maintains laboratory equipment, reagents, and supplies and documentation.
• Direct, review, and/or verify work of other laboratory personnel as assigned.
• Follows all institutional and department policies and maintains a clean work environment.
