Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf in Port St Joe, FL. The role supports high-volume diagnostic testing and patient care.

Responsibilities include specimen qualification, routine and complex testing per SOPs, instrument maintenance, quality control, and timely reporting of results. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science and 1+ year of laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification and Florida MT license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
