Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension St Vincent Southside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. The position supports high-volume, production-based clinical lab science and requires a 7p-7a schedule on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Responsibilities include verifying specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex procedures per SOPs, maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring timely reporting of results to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical field.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree.
• Florida State Technologist License.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
