Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional for Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf in Port St Joe, FL. Schedule options include Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm or 4x10 shifts; hours may vary.

You will perform specimen testing, instrument maintenance, and ensure timely, accurate results to support patient care. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a chemical/biological science or MLS, and typically 1+ year of lab experience; ASCP/AMT and FL MT licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
• FL Medical Technologist (MT) license (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf in Port St Joe, FL.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm or 4X10 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (Work hours and Days can vary)

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification
• FL Medical Technologist (MT) license

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
