Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate or Bachelor of Science in chemical, physical or biological sciences with at least one year full-time laboratory training or experience.
• Employee must meet Testing Personnel requirements under CLIA '88.
• Preferred: BS in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers in a positive, professional manner to facilitate accurate test orders and timely results.
• Evaluate specimen adequacy, labeling, condition and document integrity in LIS as appropriate.
• Perform analytic tests according to SOPs.
• Adhere to quality control policies, perform daily QC, troubleshoot QC issues and document actions.
• Perform instrument maintenance as scheduled and document activities.
• Correlate data, monitor test performance, and document corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Recognize critical results and notify the clinician and document notification.
• Investigate pending or recollected specimens and inform coworkers before shifts end.
• Perform proficiency testing per SOPs.
• Maintain supply inventory and follow storage requirements.
