Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform and evaluate semi-technical procedures on patient specimens within clinical and anatomic pathology.

You will register patients, order tests, collect samples, prepare slides, load instruments, report results, and assist with waived testing. Excellent attention to quality, safety, and customer service is required. Shift 9:30 am–6:00 pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Degree in Biology, Science or related major may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform and evaluate semi-technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens.
• Register patients, order tests, collect samples and assess acceptability.
• Process samples including centrifugation, aliquoting, storage, and shipping.
• Prepare slides, load instruments, and report results.
• Maintain quality data and comply with accreditation regulations.

Education
