Job summary

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory techniques and regulatory quality requirements.
• Capable of evaluating, interpreting and reporting accurate test results.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine testing and reports results on specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Calibrates and operates all instruments and equipment according to preventive maintenance schedule.
• Updates, records and enters test results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS); accountable for confidentiality of patient information.
• Using pre-calibrated and/or automated devices, sets up/monitors automated test procedures; performs manual procedures requiring judgment.
• May identify common bacterial cultures for supervisor confirmation.
• Maintains inventory of reagents and supplies; orders supplies when necessary.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
