Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Birmingham OB-GYN team in Trussville, AL. Work schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:30 am–4:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am–2:00 pm with some flexibility. You will perform specimen testing, maintain instrumentation, and ensure accurate results to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience.

Responsabilités

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
