Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our accredited laboratory team. You will perform a range of high-, moderate-, and waived tests, utilizing advanced instrumentation to deliver timely, accurate results that inform patient care.

In this role you will follow established procedures, participate in quality control, and contribute to training new staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a specialized diploma.
• Less than 1 year of experience or clinical internship.
• Demonstrated technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret scientific documents.
• Ability to read, understand and speak basic English.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer systems and software programs.
• Flexibility to meet scheduling needs of the department and hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform high, moderate, or waived laboratory testing in the assigned department.
• Operate advanced clinical laboratory instrumentation per SOPs.
• Verify, report results with independent judgment.
• Monitor results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Perform quality control and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide orientation/training of new employees/students.
